Dijinn & Shadya
07-27-2005 00:41:11
Shadya: Ahlan, oh mighty Dijinn. Greetings.
Dijinn: Greetings, Mistress Shadya. Many thanks for your help.
Shadya: This one is pleased to, after so many months, see a creation of the desert winds. You are as a mirage from my homeland.
Dijinn smiles.
Dijinn: Most would think me the same here.
Shadya: Ah, these people take too much for granted their shade and sweet water.
Dijinn: That they do, but such is the way of modern mortals.
Shadya: But -- this is where we be and there is work at hand.

Shadya smiles beneath her veil.

08-16-2005 00:31:06 A chime sounded indicating the authorization of a new security level.
Xochiquetzal: Congratulations, Dijinn.
Voltaic Sentry: gratz.
Dijinn: Many thanks. <The elemental turned to the figure in ice. > Thanks for the sk, Ice FX. Time for me to get some sleep.
Xochiquetzal: Thank you for your heat, Dijinn.
Dijinn: <apparently rethinking his courses of action> Then I shall sit here and keep you warm. Should I move from the ice person?
Xochiquetzal: <having placed herself on the far side of the genie from Ice FX> You do provide an effective counterpoint to that ice-encased being.... If we were to actually do work, I would much rather be with you and far away from that ice. As it is, even here, you seem to be able to keep me from wanting to curl up and hibernate.
Dijinn: Well, fortunately, that Joe person is doing the work.
Xochiquetzal: <smiles warmly> Joe keeps me very warm and active. He is my hero.
Dijinn nods.
Dijinn: He's rather strong for a mortal
Xochiquetzal: The thesis of the report that I am writing is that super heroes -- such as Joe -- represent an evolutionary step for humans. An advancement physically and mentally.
Dijinn: Yes, humans are getting much stronger then they use to be.
Xochiquetzal: You are not, then, human?
Dijinn: No, I am a Dijinn. I believe the more commonly known term to humans is “genie.”
Xochiquetzal: And you are native to this world? Or do you come from a different dimension -- as I do?
Dijinn: I am native to this world.
Xochiquetzal: Ah. I do not recall indications of such as you in the reports my people compiled. Will you tell me about genie please?
Xochiquetzal takes out her PDA.
Dijinn: Dijinn. And I would be glad to tell you whatever you would like to know.
Xochiquetzal: How is a djinn formed? What is your natural environment? How do you relate to humans? What is the social structure of your kind?
Xochiquetzal smiles. Dijinn blinks a moment.
Xochiquetzal: Are those enough questions to start with?
Dijinn: Ahem, a dijinn is not really formed, we just are. Our natural environment …well, I came from and most dijinni come from the more arid places of the world. Relating to humans: I relate to them as masters, for I am just a servant, but I only have one master at any given time.
Xochiquetzal: Who is your current master, if I may ask?
Dijinn: A very old human. I've never asked his name ... only fulfilled his wishes.
Xochiquetzal: Hm. Would it be possible for me to talk to him to add his insights to my studies?
Dijinn: I can not say, for after I fulfill this last wish I am released from his service and do not know if I would be able to track him down.
Xochiquetzal: You do not know his present whereabouts?
Dijinn: No. I do know where I left him when I left him to grant this final wish -- if that would assist you.
Xochiquetzal: Where was that?
Dijinn: I left him in the state of this country called Florida. It is where most of the older humans tend to live in this country, I believe.
Xochiquetzal looks surprised and makes an extra note in her PDA.
Xochiquetzal: I did not know that, Dijinn. I should explore it more thoroughly later. <She mutters to herself with some astonishment> Segregation of Elders?
Dijinn nods.
Xochiquetzal: How did he come to be your master and you his servant?
Dijinn thinks back, trying to remember.
Dijinn: It's been so long, Mistress, that I can not recall. I have been in his service for the better part of 70 years.
Xochiquetzal: That is <thinks> close to a human lifetime -- but not long by my people's standards. How long do djinni live?
Dijinn: Hard to say. Some say we are immortal. I have never seen one of us die.
Xochiquetzal: And yet 70 years is a long time to remember. Do your kind, then, have short memories?
Dijinn: No, Mistress. I have just had so many Masters that it gets confusing and hard to recall which is which.
Xochiquetzal: I see. Yes, I agree. Most normal humans are hard to tell apart. The super heroes are somewhat easier to distinguish.
Dijinn nods.
Xochiquetzal: Are all of your kind servants?
Dijinn: No, only some. The ones that are not servants tend to just roam and do as they see fit. Normally the act for good, but sometimes, I believe, they are mischievous and like to pull.... I believe the word is pranks?
Xochiquetzal: How did those of you who are servants become so? Through conquest by humans?
Dijinn: Fate, I think. Honestly, I can not recall, so I am unable to answer that question of yours. I am sorry, Mistress.
Xochiquetzal: How odd. Most sapient species I have studied have very long memories about servitude and its bitterness. Very interesting.
Dijinn: I am sorry, Mistress, but I can not recall even how long I have walked this world. And as far back as I can remember, I have been in servitude.
Xochiquetzal: How does your owner summon you when he wishes to give you a new order?
Dijinn: It's like a mental command; I know when he has need of me and I follow the urge and go to him.
Xochiquetzal: Do others of your kind have limited memories as well?
Dijinn: Could not tell you, Mistress. I do not have their minds, and it has been a very long time since I have seen another of my kind. The closest I have seen to my kind is a human female named Shadya, but, as stated, she is human.
Xochiquetzal: Shadya? Medika mention her. A new Dark Champion. She lives somewhere in the Hollows?
Dijinn: I would not know where she lives; I have only seen her once before.
Xochiquetzal: Ningal says Shadya speaks a dialect of Arabic. Do you come from an Arab country?
Dijinn: In a final answer: Yes. Sadly, I must draw this discussion to a close for now, Mistress. I feel the urge to work towards my Master’s wish.
Xochiquetzal: Ah. Well then, I would very much like to talk with you another time. Many of my questions are as yet unanswered. <smiles>
Dijinn: I will answer them, if I am able. Good evening Mistress.
Xochiquetzal: I thank you for the answers you have already given. Good evening, Dijinn.
