03-13-2005 00:24:54 Lady Blur has joined the team.

Spirit of Pain: Eric, just having graduated college and having no real work experience, was taking odd jobs.
He took odd jobs making deliveries and "making sure x-item was where it needed to be before you needed it to be".
One such job found him taking a package, unbeknownst to him, to a government building on the day of a presidential visit.
Lady Blur: Oh, boy, The men in black were all over that package, I bet.
Spirit of Pain: Nope.
Lady Blur: <eyebrows up>
Spirit of Pain: It was labeled as a box from a cleaning supply company to be delivered to the maintenance crew.
Only due to the president's own personal bodyguard, who was just walking around and chatting with building workers, was the package even noticed.
This bodyguard was on break, as the meeting didn't really need further security.
As Eric sped in to make the delivery, the bodyguard stopped him to chat. Eric didn't have any other scheduled deliveries, so he and the bodyguard began having quite a conversation.
Hearing screams of panic, Eric raced back to find the package contained a rather insidious explosive device.
Lady Blur: (The screen just shook dramatically. Probably a Kheldian, but it was appropriately timed for your story. :-))
Spirit of Pain: The bodyguard, a plainclothesman (at the time), knew about dismantling bombs. This one, though, was far beyond anything he'd ever seen.
With three minutes left on the clock, the bodyguard tried and tried...accomplishing nothing.
At two minutes and ticking, he looked at Eric and asked him how fast he was. Eric, still wet behind the ears, said he knew he could hit at least 300 mph.
The bodyguard asked if Eric could get it out to the middle of the ocean, where it would detonate without harming anyone. Eric said he'd try.
Lady Blur: 75 miles.
Spirit of Pain: Thirty seconds later, Eric was standing in front of the bodyguard and completely puzzled.
His exact words were, "Why would anyone be sending a bomb to this building and who would want to blow up an innocent cleaning crew?"
The bodyguard told him that the president was in the building and that this was a federal building.
That evening's news had a special broadcast of Patriot (pre-shield) and a new superhero, Rush, being awarded medals, by the president, for their acts of bravery.
The bomb, delivered to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean (from Kentucky), exploded and caused a massive tidal wave. The Champions, however, were able to prevent it from ever reaching land.
Lady Blur: 'way more than 300mph!
Spirit of Pain: This being the first time the Champions dealt with one of Dr. Destroyer's plots to rule the world. (Unbeknownst to them.)
