050812 Task Force Griffin

08-12-2005 12:32:32
Malichi Samson, Xochiquetzal, and Density put together a Manticore TF team with Malfeasance (illusion-emp controller), Mr. Cuisinart, Kid Zapp (electricity blaster), and Meltdowner (fire controller). Although the green-skinned woman took several trips to the hospital (as did Malfeasance), the team proved successful.

08-12-2005 14:04:27
Xochiquetzal: Well, I'm with Manicore. Shall I end the TF?
Kid Zapp: Yep.
Malichi Samson: I would say yes.

Malichi invites Xochi into a new team.
[NPC]Rodrigo: I hear that Crey is the new evil empire of the business world.
Malichi Samson takes a step back to make sure Xochi isn't too uncomfortable. Xochiquetzal chuckles.
Malichi Samson: Don't want you hibernating around me. <grins> Joe would kill me I'm sure. <laughs>
[NPC]Mike: Task Force Griffin took down Hopkins! Way to go!
Malfeasance arrives to check in with Manticore or Silver Swan.
Malfeasance: lol..hi
Malichi Samson: Hi
Malfeasance: well...bye.
Malichi Samson: later
[NPC]Bart: I heard Task Force Griffin was tearing up the landscape over in Crey's Folly.

Xochiquetzal: Joe keeps me warm and lively. It is not your fault that I seem vulnerable to cold.
Malichi Samson: True, but since I emit large amounts of cold now, and you seem to dislike it, I wouldn't want you so uncomfortable.
Xochiquetzal: <chuckle> Until I met Joe, I was always cold in this world. I suspect that is the reason my people stayed near your equator.
Malichi Samson: Understandable, Just hate to make people uncomfortable, that's one reason why I'm trying to learn how to damper this new power.
Xochiquetzal: Medika says Crey knows a lot about cold control -- but after working on Manitcore's task, it's hard to imagine asking Crey for help.
Malichi Samson: Yeah, that's one major reason why I'm working on a new pair of gloves. I'll find some way to keep this cold to myself

Xochiquetzal: Why did you abandon the old pair?
Malichi Samson: ‘Cause of my accident in a reactor with a freakshow boss. I no longer need my robotics for ice blasts. I form them on my own now. I guess I suffered a secondary mutation.
Xochiquetzal: I see. I can imagine that it takes some time to invent something different than you had before, then.
Malichi Samson: Well I am constantly running plans though my head; just haven't had the time to sit down and see if they will work yet.
Xochiquetzal: If your powers are different, then the technology you have to work with must take a great deal of readjustment.
Malichi Samson: Yes, now instead of amplifying the cold around me, I'm trying to figure out a way to dampen its effects.
Xochiquetzal: Fascinating.
Malichi Samson holds up his hands.
Malichi Samson: It seems the worse here.
Xochiquetzal: Most of my powers are techno implants, but I wouldn't be able to adjust them myself.
Malichi Samson: Given time to study them, I would be able to. Or at least their plans. I wouldn't have to have them taken out of you until it was time to adjust them

Xochiquetzal: Hmmm. I was thinking that when I got home, I'd see if anyone had developed a heat siphon that could be implanted; that would be SOOO nice here.
Malichi Samson: I'll work on that, after I get around to making and testing these gloves I have in mind.
Xochiquetzal: Really? You could do that for me?
Malichi Samson: Why not? You're part of my family since you’re in Champions, and family helps each other.
Xochiquetzal: It is kind of you to think of me that way. Joe, too, has told me to think of the Champions as my new clan. It -- is a concept -- that -- I must -- adjust to.
Malichi Samson: Can't promise I can actually do it, but I can try. But shhh, don't want Ban or Rush putting me in a lab making upgrades for everyone, I'll never get back out on the streets then.
Xochiquetzal: Ah! <smiles> That is partly why I say I am a sociologist. I am an observer -- not a super hero.
Malichi Samson: Well I guess I'm a hero. I'm just trying to make a difference. If people think I'm a hero, I'm not gonna argue the point.
Xochiquetzal: I must never forget that my notes on this world may someday make a difference in how my people treat it. That is more important than fighting freakshow or anything else. For me, at least. I think of it as something akin to Med and Blur's wish to save this world from a Rikti-and-Nyorn infested future.
Malichi Samson: Well, that I don't know anything about.... But I have an extreme distaste for the freakshow as of late... <Looks at his hands and the vapors rising from them with a frown. >
Xochiquetzal: <sympathetic chuckle> I can understand that. They treated me none too kindly in Crey's Folly this day.
Malichi Samson nods.

Malichi Samson: All I know is that one freakshow boss. I don't think he'll be on the streets again before long.
Xochiquetzal: I find so-called "heroics" pale beside the thought of your people being under the feet of Tetzcatlipoca and the Technochtitlani.
Malichi Samson: Um..... and they are your people, I'm guessing?
Xochiquetzal: Although sometimes I think Tetzcatlipoca would LIKE the freakshow. <sigh>
Malichi Samson: What on earth for?! They like the mayhem?
Xochiquetzal: I am of Technochtitlan. My people are Technochtitlani. Tetzcatlipoca, sometimes known as Hurakan, is an advocate of -- chaos. He has a powerful political following amongst the Technochtitlani.
Malichi Samson’s eyes flutter for a moment memorizing all that was said.
Malichi Samson: Oy! I don't know enough about this world’s population. <laughs> It’s gonna be hard to learn yours as well.
Xochiquetzal: Your people once worshiped Tetzcatlipoca as God of Fate. I think he took them seriously.
Malichi Samson: Yeah, well, "fate" is a sort of Chaos.
Xochiquetzal: So I am serious about proving that he should not be allowed to reinstate his rule here.
Malichi Samson: And how would you do that?
Xochiquetzal: I will publish my report on the development of super humans on this world and their equivalency to the nobles of Technochtitlan. I have -- grown fond of you all.
Malichi Samson grins.
Malichi Samson: Well, I've not had the pleasure of spending much time with you, but I like ya.
Xochiquetzal: <chuckle> That is different, Ahau Malichi. Angel and her sisters view my "observer status" with distain. As though I intended to dissect someone. <sigh>
Malichi Samson: *laughs* Well, they are a strange bunch, but I like them too, and their cousin Julia seems to like me as well. <blushes>
Xochiquetzal: That is good. Miss Hail has said good things of you as well.. as has Medika. I think you have made friends here, no?
Malichi Samson: Yes, I've made some great friends since joining with Champions.

Malichi Samson: Take care Xochi. I'm gonna take some down time and work on my gloves.
Xochiquetzal: Someday, would you mind answering some questions -- for my paper -- about your perceptions as a superhero and your acclimatization to the Champions?
Malichi Samson: Perceptions sure. The other, um, I might be super smart and all, but what does that mean?
Xochiquetzal: Well... Medika has told me that I need to be less clinical, but what I would like to research is the relationships amongst super heroes. And your comments make me think your insights should be recorded.
Malichi Samson: The relationships, huh? Well, I wouldn't be a good study subject since I don't have a relationship at the moment.
Xochiquetzal: You mentioned Angel's cousin. And I know Miss Hail speaks of you. And Medika said she'd picked up some odd "vibes" (is that the word?) from the dark and silent one called Shadya... So you are embroiled in relationships -- of various kinds. I merely wish to understand all relationships amongst humans.
Malichi Samson: You were meaning only friendships. The "romantic" relationships I don't have the pleasure of yet, since I'm only 15 and don't have a girlfriend.
Xochiquetzal: I will let you go. Until another time.

08-12-2005 20:59:58 Entering New Thebes.
Xochiquetzal has joined the team. Malichi exhibits a new pair of gloves, fitted all the way up his forearms and impregnated with circuitry.
Malichi Samson: Lookie, I made them and they work!!
Xochiquetzal: So they do. Bravo!
Malichi Samson: Had to redesign my costume though. But at least now you won't have to worry about being cold around me. And I've started trying to design your heat siphon.
Xochiquetzal: I’m told it is time I got a “new look” as well. The tailor will give me a mission once I have room in my log.
Malichi Samson: Then I’ll help you.

08-12-2005 21:07:36 Entering Hutchinson Park.
Malichi Samson has defeated Lesser Devoured
You have defeated Geode
Malichi Samson has defeated Tree of Life
The two work there way through the Devouring Earth infestation on the west side of Founders Falls.

08-12-2005 21:15:39 A new team task has been chosen.
You have invited Malichi Samson to be your sidekick. Malichi Samson accepts the offer to be a sidekick!
08-12-2005 21:20:53 Entering Crey Factories, Creys Folly.
Malichi Samson has defeated Warhulk
Malichi Samson has defeated Lance Corporal
Malichi Samson has defeated Lance Corporal
Malichi Samson has defeated Carabineir
Malichi Samson has defeated Carabineir
[NPC]Warhulk: This is restricted access.
[NPC]Warhulk: Attack! The heroes must be destroyed!
Malichi Samson has defeated Patrol Guard.

08-12-2005 21:29:28 A new team task has been chosen.
[NPC]Crey Crisis Unit: You'll be sorry you showed up on my watch.
[NPC]Medic: How dare you!
Malichi works his way through a spate of renegade Crey in Crey’s Folly.

At the Icon, Founders Falls
08-12-2005 21:42:43 Entering The Red River. The Icon tailoring shop.
Xochiquetzal slips into her original working garb and approaches the tailor.
Malichi Samson: Over here!
Malichi Samson whistles and whistles again. The green alien turns away from the counter to him.
Xochiquetzal: <chuckle> Can I help you, Malichi?
Malichi Samson: Nothing. Just admiring your outfit.
Xochiquetzal: <grin> Glad you like it. Medika did not feel that it was heroic -- but it is my native garb.
Malichi Samson: <laughs> Yeah, I could see Med's thinking: add a few straps, paint it black, and it's more of a Dominatrix outfit.
Xochiquetzal: I do wear a black version when the Champions have real research to do.

Xochiquetzal: Grey Lensman, too, preferred the other costume when I started wearing the cape. He no longer mutters about the "moons of Jupiter."
Malichi Samson: Wonder what he meant by that?
Xochiquetzal: Medika blushed a lot when I asked the same question and said that Grey's wife gave him a hard time because he was always running behind me -- and the "moons of Jupiter."
Xochiquetzal turns her back to the teenager. Malichi Samson drools.
Xochiquetzal: By which I gathered he meant my gluteus maximus.
Malichi Samson: Um, yeah. I can see why Med would blush.
Malichi Samson wipes his mouth and grins. Xochiquetzal chuckles.
Malichi Samson: <winks> Joe's a lucky man.

Xochiquetzal: Medika seems to represent a portion of your population that is somewhat inhibited in terms of sensual appreciation.
Malichi Samson: Yeah, she's a bit too innocent, but we love her none the less. She's even more innocent then I am, and I'm younger, though I am a male.
Xochiquetzal: Indeed. She is a sweet child. Ningal coaches me some in how not to embarrass her too badly.
Xochiquetzal shrugs. Malichi Samson laughs.
Xochiquetzal: But I don't always recognize a "situation" when it comes upon me.
Malichi Samson: Just be yourself. It's all you can do. And Med will get used to it, one day, in like 2000 years.
Xochiquetzal: Joe had given me to understand that most people are more comfortable with themselves than is our Medika.
Malichi Samson laughs.
Malichi Samson: No. Joe is one of a kind. Even I am not that comfortable.
Xochiquetzal: Her form of innocence is inexplicable to my people.
Malichi Samson: It's termed shyness, I think.
Xochiquetzal: With our heightened senses, sensual awareness of all kinds is part of our everyday being.
Malichi Samson: So...... um, yeah. I won't touch that one.
Xochiquetzal: Are you shy as well, Malichi? You said, I think, that you also were innocent.
Malichi Samson darts his eyes.
Malichi Samson: Yes, I'm shy... to a point. Just not as much as Med. And I am innocent as well.
Xochiquetzal: <nodding>You may touch. We appreciate all forms of sensual partnership in Technochtitlan.
Malichi Samson blushes. Xochiquetzal cocks her head, questioningly.
Malichi Samson: That's not what I meant, Xochi, and Joe would kill me for the thoughts that just went though my mind.
Xochiquetzal: Hm. A blush tends to mean I've created a "situation". I do apologize.
Malichi Samson: No, you didn't; my mind did. Not everything is gonna be your fault. We do bring a lot of things on ourselves.
Xochiquetzal: <chuckle> So do we all, Malichi. So do we all. Even a Technochtitlani.

Malichi Samson: So..... how about those Dodgers?
Malichi Samson grins.
Xochiquetzal: What sort of dodging do you refer to?
Malichi Samson: Dodgers is a major league Baseball team. It's a way of changing the subject when you are making yourself uncomfortable, by asking about a sports team.
Xochiquetzal: A sport? Ah. I see. Like pok-ta-pok amongst my people -- although some would say our game is also a religious and political exercise.
Malichi Samson: Um, yeah, I guess so.
Xochiquetzal: Humans who played pok-ta-pok thought that it predicted the future, and the losing captain was often sacrificed at the end of a game. I trust your baseball involves no sacrifice.
Malichi Samson: Hmmm, I don't think so, though I'm not a fan of the game, so I don't know all about it.

Malichi Samson: Anyways, it would do no good to touch, Xochi. I can't feel much with these gloves on, and my touch would certainly frost you over.
Xochiquetzal: I truly do appreciate the warning, Malichi. Like Miss Hail, you will be an adventure for me.
Malichi Samson: Luckily I don't have to wear a full suit like Miss Hail. I think I should see about designing her a pair of gloves or some sort of clothing that can help to keep her aura in check. Guess it would all depend on what part of the body the cold emits from the most.
Xochiquetzal: I do wonder if your glove construction would help her. She has moped about her inability to have the sensual experiences I enjoy.
Malichi Samson: Um, Xochi, I don't quite think she's ready for the sensual experiences that you enjoy. I don't even think I am ready for those.
Xochiquetzal: She told Ningal that -- before he left Champions -- Midnight Raider kissed her -- and that her hands became warmer during that kiss.
Malichi Samson: Int’resting. Did she mention that the kiss made her temperature rise at all? If so, maybe the way to keep her aura in check is to keep her body temperature up. Xochiquetzal: <shrug> I have heard Medika mention to Lady Blur that there may be a psionic component to Miss Hail's control that has been damaged in all the redesign Crey did of Hail. But I don't think Miss Hail has been able to repeat the kissing experiment. Malichi Samson: Well, it doesn't have to be a kiss per se; there are other means to raise someone's body temperature.
Xochiquetzal: Like hugging Joe?
Malichi Samson: Well, that's one, but I don't think that will be a thing she could constantly do.
Xochiquetzal: <regretfully> I suppose not. I would if I could and I can't, so I suppose it would be equally difficult for Hail.
Malichi Samson: Even more so since Hail and Joe are not involved like you and Joe.
Xochiquetzal: Indeed. I had gathered from my research amongst the denizens of the Red Light District that human males were not particularly faithful to their mates, but that seems not to be the case always.
Malichi Samson: No, it's not the case in a lot of cases; only a few very unhappy -- or shall we say unsatisfied -- men are unfaithful.
Xochiquetzal: Ah. I should ask Joe if he is satisfied. And if he is not, that may provide another insight into human relations. <Looks thoughtful -- and perhaps, for once, not completely comfortable.>
Malichi Samson: Sweetie, <grins> from the way Joe is around you, trust me, there is no reason to ask.
Xochiquetzal: It is axiomatic that a Technochtitlani should be able to satisfy a human -- but, hm. I must examine my thinking. I may be prejudiced.... <Looks a little worried.>
Malichi Samson: Just a forewarning, Xochi. Be a little more careful who you offer to touch. Not everyone is, um, a gentlemen like I am. Now, now, don't go getting worked up. Trust me, as a fellow male, I can tell he's plenty satisfied.
Xochiquetzal: I see. <Pulls out her native PDA and makes a note. >
Malichi Samson: Can I offer one piece of advice, Xochi?
Xochiquetzal: Certainly, Malichi.
Malichi Samson: I can tell you're going to ask him anyways. Don't phase it, ‘Do I satisfy you?’ Phase it something like, ‘Do I make you happy, Joe?’
Xochiquetzal: Satisfaction should be a component of happiness. I can see that. Certainly I can so phrase it.
Malichi Samson: He will almost surely ask you what brought this up. Tell him that you were feeling uneasy about the unfaithfulness of the men on this planet. I know he's used to your being blunt so that shouldn't phase him -- and if my guess is right -- he'll make sure you're satisfied after the discussion is over.
Malichi Samson grins with a slight blush.
Xochiquetzal: I will do so. Thank you.
Malichi Samson: Anytime, I might be just a kid, but you would be surprised what you can learn from just reading books.
Xochiquetzal: Nin and Medika have taught me how to read some in English, but I really cannot yet read the sorts of English treatises that someone of my education in Technochtitlan would produce. I must rely on direct questions and experience until I master your language better.
Malichi Samson: All you have to do is ask.
Xochiquetzal: Your written language is very, very different from my peoples’. Simpler -- and yet more easily misunderstood, I think.
Malichi Samson: English is one of the most difficult languages to learn, too many of the same words meaning different things.
Xochiquetzal: Yes, that has been an -- interesting problem.
Malichi Samson: You speak English very well. It’s only a matter of time before you can read it just as well.
Xochiquetzal: My psychic control gives me -- advantages in learning to speak languages. But that rarely relates to written forms.
Malichi Samson: Ah, yeah, I could see how that would help and hinder you at the same time, depending on who you learned to speak through.
Malichi Samson: What has been an ‘interesting problem’? The fact of the same word with different meanings, or just asking someone a question?
Xochiquetzal: The same words with different meanings is difficult....
Malichi Samson: The easiest way to tell for sure what the word means -- if you don't want to ask -- is to read the whole phrase or sentence, and see which meaning makes more sense.

Xochiquetzal: I was fortunate to have been brought to the hospital where Sable -- Medika -- was a student when I crashed in this place. She has been a very -- useful friend.
Malichi Samson: Yes, Med is a angel; she'd give you the shirt off her back if it helped.
Xochiquetzal: I have had to use the trick you mention often in interpreting clues and such acquired from contact sources. Sometimes I still take them to Medika for interpretation.
Malichi Samson: Sometimes, like I said, you just have to ask. Always feel free to ask me, Med, or anyone really, if you're confused.
Xochiquetzal: <chuckle> I ask many questions -- and get very strange looks at times.
Malichi Samson: Well, I understand you to a point, Xochi. I don't know everything about you, nor will I try, but I can understand that you are still learning about us and am glad to help in your understanding of us.
Xochiquetzal: As a trained observer, I am most interested when the explanation does not seem to match the actions. Humans are most intriguing.
Malichi Samson: Give me an example, if you would.
Xochiquetzal: If one comes up, I will point it out to you. Agreed?
Malichi Samson: Very well. <Extends his hand.> Shake on it?
Xochiquetzal: Indeed. I am curious to experience your gloves.
Xochiquetzal puts out her hand and shakes. Malichi Samson shakes back.
Malichi Samson: Then it's a deal.
The gloves are rough leather with bits of circuits enlaced throughout them. Xochiquetzal frowns slightly.
Malichi Samson: Problem, Xochi?
Xochiquetzal: How can you experience sensation through these gloves? They feel -- dead.
Malichi Samson: Would you prefer that I took them off and let you experience the cold instead?
Xochiquetzal: No, truly not. But I was speaking of your feelings; not mine.
Malichi Samson: I'm not worried about my sensations, Xochi. I'm more interested in making sure everyone else is comfortable.
Xochiquetzal: That is most good of you. You are akin to Medika, I think.
Malichi Samson shrugs.
Malichi Samson: I just don't want people to not want to be around me cause I make them uncomfortable. So I'll deal with not being able to feel much though these gloves for that

Xochiquetzal: You do not make me uncomfortable.
Malichi Samson: If I took off the gloves I would.
Xochiquetzal: I see. Very much like Miss Hail.
Malichi Samson: Just not as potent.
The boy looked around the now-empty shop.
Malichi Samson: Sit here. I'll let you feel just how cold I can make it from a distance.
Xochi sits and then, when Malichi’s ice storm started up, stood and retreated to the far side of the room.
Xochiquetzal: It is sad to have two such young people unable to touch and sense due to this "cold effect". I could not stay long in such a room as you create.
Malichi Samson: Nor can enemies. So there is a good point to it.
He laid down an ice patch. Xochi edged nearer to the exit.
Malichi Samson: Sorry, Xochi. I warned you, my cold emissions are not as potent as Miss Hail’s, but my power output is a bit stronger then she's shown as of yet.
Xochiquetzal: <shivering> As much cold as you generate tends to make me feel sleepy, Malichi. <yawn>
Malichi Samson: Then I should stop giving you demonstrations.

Malichi Samson: Now to try something.... Wonder if I can use smaller gloves to block this cold? Might as well try while we are here.
The mechanical genius rushed over to consult with the chief Icon tailor and, after a short wait returned, re-equipped.
Malichi Samson: Hmmm.....
Malichi Samson reaches his hand out.
Malichi Samson: Here, take my hand, Xochi. I want to see if you can feel this.
Xochiquetzal: That looks very -- trim. Your skin is showing. Miss Hail is careful not to expose skin.
Xochiquetzal reaches out her hand and Malichi takes it.
Xochiquetzal: <expressing pleasure> But ---ahhh, mmmm. I like these gloves.
Malichi Samson: So, you feel the heat then?
Xochiquetzal: <petting his glove> I could certainly hold your hand for some time. Mmmmmm. It is warm, yes. Mmmmmmmm.
Malichi Samson blushes and lets go of her hand.
Malichi Samson: Um yeah, I think that's enough testing.
Xochiquetzal: Oh, did I do it again?
Malichi Samson: Do what?
Xochiquetzal: Make a "situation"?
Malichi Samson: Not really, Xochi. I’m just not use to someone, um, petting me.
Xochiquetzal: Oh. I appreciate the sensation you created. It was not quite like being with Joe, but more pleasant than any previous human contact I have had. Those are very nice gloves.
Malichi Samson: Granted, but they are not human touch, it's the circuits having to work harder since they are more compact and less of them in the previous ones.
Xochiquetzal: But do YOU have more sensation with your fingers uncovered?
Malichi Samson: Well, I felt your hand, if that's what you meant. But I'm not testing that with.... you. <blushes>
Xochiquetzal: It is good to touch, Malichi. It reinforces one's place in the natural worlds.
Malichi Samson: Well, Xochi, there are, um, times to touch and, um, times not to touch....
Xochiquetzal: Angel has indicated that is so to Joe and me, but -- touching is as necessary as breathing. Though perhaps this is a biological difference between our peoples. I should ask Medika and Lady Blur about it, in their capacity as medical experts.
Malichi Samson: Well, I can tell you this much -- that with males, the sense of touch is one of the more, um, sexual senses..... But that comes from books yet again. I don't know that for a fact.

08-12-2005 23:25:23 Pains Pleasure has joined the team.
Xochiquetzal: Are you then too young amongst your people to explore the sexual senses? It is true that my people do not begin such until about 80 katunob.
Malichi Samson: Yes, I would be considered to be too young, Xochi.

Malichi Samson: Good evening Sarah
Xochiquetzal: Sarah?
Malichi Samson: Check your team read out, Xochi.
Pains Pleasure: Hey, guys! Be right there. I’m in Indy, chasing family leaders.
Xochiquetzal: Ah, Greetings Pleasure.
Pains Pleasure: Hey, Xochi.
Malichi Samson: But yes, Xochi, I am to young by, um, human standards.
Xochiquetzal: As is Miss Hail. I have just passed the age of inexperienced youth myself.
Malichi Samson: Really? I figured you were a bit older then that from your knowledge. Pains Pleasure: I thought you were around 200, Xochi.
Xochiquetzal: Ningal has calculated it and, yes, she says I am about 200 of your years.
Malichi Samson: Wait! I'm thinking in our standards. I don't know your life span, so I guess it could be true.
Xochiquetzal: Indeed. A Technochtitlani reaches physical maturity at about 180 or so of your years, I think.
Malichi Samson: That's amazing!
Xochiquetzal: Our techno implants don't all come "live" until we are some 330 of your years old.
Malichi Samson: I don't understand that comment. Your implants are what make you mature is what I gathered from that?
Xochiquetzal: No. I think you misunderstand. My implants are what give me most of what the Paragon City Registry considers my "super" powers.

Malichi Samson grins at Sarah.
Malichi Samson: Get Julia my number?
Pains Pleasure: I sent it in E-mail, Mal.
Malichi Samson: Oh.
Pains Pleasure grins.
Malichi Samson: Ok. Thanks, Sarah,

Malichi Samson: How long in our years do your people live?
Xochiquetzal: It depends on how you count our lives, Malichi. We live and live again.
Pains Pleasure: Do you remember your past lives, Xochi?
Xochiquetzal: I am too young to remember them all yet, Pleasure. My memories are -- spotty -- and may continue to be so if I am unable to return to Technochtitlan.
Pains Pleasure: Do your people usually, though?
Xochiquetzal: Yes. Yes. We usually remember our pasts and our past powers. That way we can properly advise those who currently have such powers.
Pains Pleasure: Cool. We don't usually remember ours.
Xochiquetzal: Some of your people deny living cyclic lives, Pleasure. If I am to live out my life on this planet, then that is something I would like to better study.

Pains Pleasure: Hey, Mal! Why aren’t your hands glowing?
Malichi Samson: New gloves that I made. These are the second ones. Xochi helped me to realize that the first ones were a burden to me, so I simplified them. Now I emit heat from my hands. < Offers his hand to Sarah. >
Pains Pleasure: Wow! Cool! <Takes his hand.> Or should I say Hot!
Malichi Samson laughs.
Malichi Samson: Well, rather, the gloves emit the heat from the circuits working overtime.
Xochiquetzal: Is "working overtime" not a phrase indicative of disagreeableness, Malichi?
Malichi Samson: It is, but the circuits are not living, so they feel nothing. It's just a phrase really

Pains Pleasure: Xochi, we just met another version of Pro today. He said he had died 100 times and yet still lived.
Xochiquetzal: Hm. I would like to talk to Pro about that, Pleasure.
Pains Pleasure: You'll have to catch him as Thomas Protect.
Malichi Samson lets go of Sarah’s hand and listens to the two ladies talking.
Xochiquetzal: I see.... <Makes a note in her PDA. >
Xochiquetzal: <looking up from the PDA> My people, too, often change names with each turn of the cycle.
Pains Pleasure: Seems he has a, ummm, rather conscious subconscious going on with him.
Malichi Samson: More like split personalities.
]Xochiquetzal: That sounds mysterious.
Pains Pleasure: I think his guardian angel took up host in his body on his first death when Archangel did his thing.
Malichi Samson: From what I gathered from listening to him -- even though I spent most of the time confused -- it seems that each life is catching up to him and it's wreaking havoc with his mind.
Xochiquetzal: Ah. <nods> That is why my people are not born with memories of their past, but gradually come into them again.
Malichi Samson: Understandable, Xochi. Having that many memories would cause problems at a early age, I would think.

Xochiquetzal: Every word, thought, action is part of the warp of the universe. Those most kin to one, are drawn to one. But it takes time.
Malichi Samson blinks.
Malichi Samson: Ok, now you sound like Thomas did this afternoon.
Xochiquetzal: <shrug> It is my reality.
Pains Pleasure: Here we seem to remember more the younger we are, and forget as we get older.
Xochiquetzal: We do not remember in our youth -- but forget when mature only under the influence of drugs or copali.
Malichi Samson: Copali? Another word for drugs?
Xochiquetzal: <frowns slightly> More akin to -- magic. The manipulation of the weft of the universe. It is what Tetzcatlipoca did to me when he delayed my re-entrance under this Sun.
Malichi Samson: Now that is something I don't understand at all. Magic doesn't have many books I could read that would be regarded as fact.
Malichi Samson looks at Xochi confused, but stays silent.
Xochiquetzal: I am not a Nagul, I cannot wield the weft, so I cannot explain it, Malichi.
Malichi Samson: I didn't ask you to, Xochi, so I didn't expect a answer. *smiles* Not everything can be or needs to be explained.
Xochiquetzal: I am an anthropologist with a minor in botony. That's how Ningal classifies me, at least.
Malichi Samson: Oy' and here I thought I talked over peoples heads at times.
Xochiquetzal: Am I "talking over your head"? I do not mean to do so.
Malichi Samson: It's ok, Xochi. You know more then I do about the subjects that you are talking about; I can't understand everything.
Xochiquetzal: I see. I needs be more careful in my choice of words. I think "nagul" translates best as wizard -- or doctor. But doctor means other things in your society.
Malichi Samson nods.
Malichi Samson: Ok, a bit more understandable.
Malichi Samson: But enough about this magic, it's something we don't know enough about and would only be educated guesses
Xochiquetzal: I was intrigued with some of the early missions I was given that I thought were very similar to things from my home -- and was most disappointed to learn they were classed as "magic" when my training is technological.
Malichi Samson: Yeah, a lot of things can be seen differently to different thinking.

Pains Pleasure: Well, I would love to stay and chat, but I, ummm, gotta git home now. Catch y’all later.
Xochiquetzal: Until later, Sarah.
Malichi Samson: Bye, Sarah. Sorry you gotta rush off.
The mechanical genius gazes after the rapidly-disappearing female speedster.
Malichi Samson: Well, I think our talking might be over, Xochi. It's been insightful, to say the least, and I'm glad you helped me come up with a better idea for my gloves.
Xochiquetzal: I probably should see what new task and new contacts await. It is always good to exchange ideas, Malichi. Thank you
Malichi Samson: I wish you luck, and safe missions then.
Xochiquetzal: To you as well.
08-13-2005 00:05:10 Malichi Samson has quit the team.
